Biography
Marja Lianko is a painter and sculptor living and working in the Boston area. Having grown up in Finland her work reflects both the sensibilities of the Nordic landscape and the varied influences of her adopted country. Marja's work has been shown in numerous museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the De Cordova Museum, the Fuller Museum, The Fogg Museum, the Duxbury Art Complex Museum, the Rose Museum, the Boise Art Museum and the Nicolaysen Museum. Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, the De Cordova Museum, the Fogg Museum and numerous corporations. Marja has received grants and fellowships from the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Artist Foundation, the Ballinglen Arts Foundation and the Mellon Foundation.
